(Senior) Data Engineer

We are looking for a (Senior) Data Engineer with 5+ years of experience to strengthen and evolve our data platform and join our team in Helsinki. In this role, you will design scalable data models, integrate new sources, and optimize workflows using modern data platforms and AI-driven tools. At the same time, you’ll ensure the platform delivers high-quality insights that directly support the strategic and operational needs of our investment, funds, finance, and management teams—making data a trusted foundation for better business decisions.

Your key responsibilities include:

•  Develop and Enhance Korkia’s Data Platform: Use Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, and Power Apps to continuously improve our platform’s functionality and efficiency.
• Design Scalable Data Models and Architecture: Build and maintain well-structured data models and ensure the reliability of our data flows to support business-critical decisions.
• Integrate New Data Sources: Integrate and manage external and internal data sets to enhance decision-making.
• Automate and Optimize Workflows: Streamline data preparation, transformation, and reporting processes to boost productivity.
• Create Insights and Visualizations: Design metrics, reports, and dashboards that provide actionable insights and empower stakeholders.
• Leverage Generative AI: Explore and implement Generative AI solutions to derive deeper insights, automate tasks, and develop advanced analytical tools.
• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with our investment team, funds, finance team and management to understand their business needs and ensure the data platform is designed to support strategic and operational decision-making.

What we are looking for:

Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a closely related field, with hands-on experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and models.

Technical Skills:

• Hands-on experience with data pipelines, integration, and transformation using modern platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric or similar).
• SQL expertise and proven experience in designing scalable relational data models.
• Proficiency in Python for automation and data transformation; familiarity with additional languages is a plus.
• Solid knowledge of business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI) and workflow automation solutions is advantage.
• Interest in applying Generative AI tools and techniques to enhance data-driven insights and automation.

Architecture Mindset: Ability to think in terms of scalable, reliable data flows and design solutions with a focus on how data architecture underpins business growth and value creation.

Analytical Approach: Skilled at turning complex data into clear insights and actionable recommendations, always keeping the business context in mind.

Business Curiosity: An interest in understanding the renewable energy and investment domain, and how data can accelerate decision-making and value creation.

Team Player: Effective communicator and collaborator across diverse teams.
